The Community Initiative to Reduce Violence (CIRV) project will conclude in August 2025. Referrals closed on 18 April 2025. Following the delivery period ending, the project will continue with the robust evaluation with academics, the full report is due to be published in early 2028.
Since launching, the pilot project has made a significant difference to the lives of many young people, providing vital support, guidance, and opportunities to help them move away from harm and towards a more positive future.
This success has been a testament to the dedication and collaboration of all our partners, and we are incredibly proud of what has been achieved together.
West Midlands Police and the Violence Reduction Partnership would like to offer their reassurance that we will continue to prioritise working with partners to prevent and tackle youth violence and knife crime in the region.
To celebrate the success and learning from CIRV, we will be hosting an event in June 2025, where we can reflect on the journey, share insights, and recognise the collective achievements of everyone involved. We will share further details in due course, and we hope you will be able to join us for this important occasion.
CIRV was funded by the Home Office and the Youth Endowment Fund from May 2023 – August 2025.
